Overnight Lane Closures Planned for Rogers Road

WAKE FOREST — Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close several lanes on Rogers Road near Capital Creek Drive this week.

Crews plan to relocate utilities ahead of construction of the Rogers Road Grade Separation project starting this winter. They will install a new gas line under existing Rogers Road near Capital Creek Drive.

The work is scheduled to begin tonight and is expected to be completed Sept. 25, weather permitting. Lane closures will be required near the work area and will take place overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize impacts to traffic.

Steel plates will be placed over the trench while the work is underway. The plates will be removed, and the roadway will be paved once the utility work is complete.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone, slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations.

The utility relocation work is being completed ahead of the planned construction of the Rogers Road Grade Separation project, which will replace the existing at-grade railroad crossing with a bridge over the CSX S-Line.
