MACO – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close one lane of a Brunswick County road for maintenance for about three weeks.
Beginning at 8 a.m. Sept. 24, the right eastbound lane of U.S. 74/76 (Andrew Jackson Highway) over Hood Creek will be closed for bridge maintenance to extend the life of the structure and ensure the continued safety of the traveling public.
The bridge is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. Oct. 16. This work is weather-dependent and could be delayed or rescheduled.
Motorists should slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
