GREENSBORO – Norfolk Southern Railway crews plans to close several roads in Guilford County next week to install new railroad tracks. The work is part of the Carolinian and Piedmont Passenger and Freight Improvement project.
The following roads are expected to close for the upgrade Monday through Thursday, weather permitting, beginning as early as 7:00 a.m. The N.C. Department of Transportation is sending this notification as a courtesy.
Guilford County:
- Frieden Church Road, Wagoner Bend Road, Buchanan Church Road, Maxfield Road, Ward Road and O'Ferrell Street.
A contractor for Norfolk Southern will provide alternate routes and signage to inform drivers of all detours. Drivers should plan ahead for delays and follow all posted signs.
