HAVELOCK – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of N.C. 101 in Craven County beginning Tuesday.
Both directions of N.C. 101 (Fontana Boulevard) between Roosevelt Boulevard and Cunningham Boulevard will close for milling and resurfacing work. This portion of the road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. on Jan. 15.
Contractors will then conduct intermittent lane closures from Cunningham Boulevard to McCotter Boulevard to complete additional milling and resurfacing work on N.C. 101, beginning Jan. 16. One lane will remain open to through traffic.
Lane closures are expected to last about two weeks.
A signed detour route will be available using McCotter Boulevard. Use caution when traveling near the area and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
