BELHAVEN – Contract crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin work next week to replace the bridge over the Pungo River on U.S. 264 at the Beaufort-Hyde County line.
Beginning Oct. 12, crews will start grading and utility work as part of this bridge replacement project.
During construction, drivers should expect occasional lane closures and brief traffic stops.
To minimize traffic impacts for motorists, lane closures and traffic stops will not occur between the hours of 6-9 a.m. or 4-7 p.m. Short delays may occur outside those times.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution in the work zone.
