SANFORD – The N.C. Department of Transportation is scheduled to temporarily close part of a Lee County road this weekend to allow crews to replace a crossline pipe.
Starting Oct. 18 at 8 p.m., both southbound lanes on U.S. 15-501 will close from Deep River Road to Northview Drive. A signed detour will be in place directing traffic around the closure via Deep River Road, Colon Road, and U.S. 1 South.
During this closure, northbound traffic along U.S. 15-501 will be reduced to a single lane.
All lanes of traffic are expected to reopen by 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, weather permitting.
Transportation officials remind drivers to plan ahead, be alert to construction crews in the area and obey all posted traffic signs.
