ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ Edenton Driver License Office (DLO) is closing, and a temporary office will open soon.
The office, at 307 W. Freemason St., in Edenton, will indefinitely close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 to allow for necessary building repairs. NCDMV will open a temporary office in the area at a location to be determined while repairs are made to the permanent office.
During the transition to a temporary office location, three other nearby driver license offices offer services Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except on state holidays:
• Ahoskie, 242 N.C. Hwy. 42 W. (N.C. Highway Patrol Bldg.)
• Elizabeth City, 1164 U.S. Hwy. 17 (N.C. Highway Patrol Bldg.)
• Williamston, 305 E. Main St., Suite 116 (Martin Co. Government Center)
NCDMV encourages customers to review office locations and hours at
NCDMV.gov and to use online services for transactions such as license renewals, duplicates, and address changes to avoid unnecessary in person visits. Customers can also check current wait times at
