WINSTON-SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close one lane of U.S. 421 South in Forsyth County to install a long-term merge lane as part of the Big Mill Farm project from Nov. 6 to Nov. 16.
First, the left lane will close for the contractor to install and widen the median, and then the right lane will close to install the outside safety wall. In addition, one lane of the Interstate 74 ramp to U.S. 421 South will be closed during the construction.
Forsyth County drivers are encouraged to avoid the traffic delays by exiting to I-74 South and then to Interstate 40 East.
Lane closure signs will be posted at the closure site. Drivers should plan ahead for delays and follow all posted signs.
