GREENVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close a section of Briley Road in Pitt County beginning Thursday.
Starting at 7 a.m. June 18, Briley Road between Roosevelt Spain Road and U.S. 13 will close to through traffic for a widening and resurfacing project. Upon completion of widening work, crews will place a final surface layer of asphalt along the entire road requiring intermittent lane closures. The work is expected to be complete by late summer.
Local traffic will continue to have access to the road during construction. Barricades will be installed with signage indicating that the road is closed to through traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, follow posted signage and reduce speed in the work zone.
