Raleigh – Starting Saturday morning, April 28, work will
begin on the northbound lanes of the Triangle Expressway between N.C. 55 and
Green Level West Road. The work is part of the Morrisville Parkway Interchange
project. Crews will work through the weekend and reopen all three lanes no later
than 6 a.m. on Monday, April 30.
The work this weekend will be completed in two phases:
- On Saturday, starting at 6 a.m.: After the Green Level Road (Exit 62), the
left and center lanes will close, leaving the right lane open to traffic; the
left shoulder will be converted into a travel lane.
- On Sunday: After the Green Level Road (Exit 62), the right lane will be
closed and the three other travel lanes will be shifted to the left
During and after this closure, rumble strips will be present in the left
travel lane to discourage motorcycles from using it.
Drivers are urged to slow down and pay extra attention in work zones, which
are marked by warning signs in advance of the locations.
