YANCEYVILLE – Department of Transportation contractors will
start replacing an undersized culvert with a larger culvert on County Home Road
starting this weekend in Yanceyville.
“The deteriorating pipe will be
replaced with a new pipe to help improve safety, drainage, and longevity to the
roadway,” said NCDOT Division 7 Alamance and Caswell County Maintenance Engineer
John Howell.
Work will take place starting Monday, April 30, at 9 a.m.
The road will reopen by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 4, weather
permitting.
Drivers can detour
around the closure using Slade Road, N.C. 62 and U.S. 158.
The
department encourages motorists to pay attention when approaching the work zone,
obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations
safely.
