GIBSONVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will
close lanes in both directions along an 8-mile stretch of Interstate 40/I-85
between mile markers 121 and 140 for pavement rehabilitation work between
Guilford and Alamance Counties.
The closures are needed so crews can
safely remove and replace the old pavement with new asphalt, ultimately
rehabilitating these portions of highway.
The work will take place
nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. starting Monday, April 30, until work is
complete no later than Thursday, Nov. 1, weather permitting.
NCDOT
reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and
obey the posted speed limit.
