One ramp to be closed each night starting this weekend
WILMINGTON— Drivers using the ramps at the Interstate 40 and I-140 interchange need to be aware of intermittent closures beginning Sunday, April 29.
The closures are needed to repave all the ramps in the interchange. That will improve the safety of the ramps and make the ride considerably smoother.
The nightly closures will start at 8 p.m. Sunday and continue until 5 a.m. each day through Thursday, May 17.
Detour signs will change for each individual closure. Transportation officials urge travelers to follow the message boards and use caution on the detour routes during the closures.
