DURHAM – A southbound portion of Avondale Drive near I-85 in
Durham will be closed to traffic this Sunday, April 29, from 7 a.m. to 5
p.m.
Maintenance crews are set to repair an overhead sign previously damaged in a
wreck. Engineers expect the impact on traffic to be high, as all three of the
southbound lanes will be closed while the crews work.
Motorists looking to use southbound Avondale should follow detour signs onto
the I-85 collector road and Roxboro Street in navigating past the worksite. Use
caution when approaching the closures, and anticipate needing extra time while
traveling through the area.
