The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to install wildlife crossing structures (underpasses) and fencing along U.S. 64 in Dare County.
The project covers approximately 2.5 miles within Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, stretching from east of the East Lake community to west of Robertson Landing Road in Dare County. The proposed crossings aim to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions and improve habitat connectivity.

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project to the public and for the project team to receive feedback.
Public Comment
NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops.
