Proposed Improvements to I-26 Asheville Connector - Buncombe County

​​​STIP Number I-2513, B & D 

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes improvements to I-240 at the Haywood Road interchange and construction of a new section of I-26​ from the Patton Avenue interchange, across the French Broad River, where it would connect with U.S.19/23/70 south of Broadway Street.

These proposed improvements will update the interstate corridor to meet current design standards and reduce traffic delays and congestion along I-26/I-240.

A public meeting is scheduled for:

The information presented at this public meeting will allow for individual discussions with project engineers, but there will be no formal presentation. Project details and maps can be found at the NCDOT public input webpage​​​.​ 

Public Comment

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops.
