Project Information

For more information on this project, go to the I-40/I-77 Interchange page.
The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to improve the I-40/I-77 interchange and provide better access management on East Broad Street (S.R. 2321) from Vine Street to Signal Hill Drive (S.R. 2422) in Iredell County.

Access management is used to improve traffic flow, reduce crashes, and manage congestion. Additionally, this project will develop I-40 collector-distributor roadways between the U.S. 21 and I-77 interchanges, as well as modifications to the I-40 and Old Mocksville Road interchange, and the I-77 and East Broad Street interchange. The project will also widen approximately 7.4 miles of I-77 from four lanes to eight lanes.
