U.S. 17 & N.C. 904 Intersection Conversion

STIP Number R-5851

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to convert intersection at U.S. 17 and N.C. 904 to a reduced-conflict intersection in Brunswick County. The primary purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

A reduced-conflict intersection (RCI) is designed to reduce potential collisions for vehicles and pedestrians by allowing drivers from a side road to only turn right. To go the other direction, or cross the highway, they then would pull into a dedicated lane to make a U-turn and then go straight or turn right at the intersection.

A public meeting is scheduled for:

Monday, July 8, 2019
5-7 p.m.
Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School
250 Pea Landing Road NW

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the project and gather input on the proposed design.
