Open House on Proposed Widening of Fire Tower & Portertown Roads

The N.C. Department of Transportation is holding an open-house public meeting to provide information about the proposed widening of Fire Tower Road and Portertown Road and modifications to the project designs since September 2016,

Changes include improvements to the adjacent Charles Boulevard/Fire Tower Road intersection and Arlington Boulevard/Fire Tower Road intersection as well as the street network surrounding these intersections.

NCDOT and consultant staff will be available to answer questions and receive comments.  Please note that there will not be a formal presentation.

The opportunity to provide written comments will be provided at the meeting, and comments are encouraged.

In addition, the public can submit comments until Sept. 1, 2017.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled individuals who want to participate in these meetings. Anyone requiring such services should contact Tamara Makhlouf, at (919) 707-6072, as early as possible so that arrangements can be made.

For individuals who speak only Spanish or have a limited ability to read, speak or understand English, interpretive services will be available at the meeting upon request. For more information, call 1-800-481-6494 prior to the meeting.
