The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge on N.C. 48 over the Roanoke River in Halifax and Northampton counties.
The existing bridge will remain open during construction and will be used as an on-site detour. Construction is anticipated to last up to 24 months.
Due to COVID-19, NCDOT will not host an in-person public meeting for this project. However, the public is invited to review
NCDOT's public input portal and submit comments.
The opportunity to submit written comments can be submitted by
