​​Preliminary designs involve converting 15th Street to a four-lane roadway divided by a raised median that will allow for left turns at median breaks.

The proposed typical section along the corridor includes:

• Four 11-foot wide travel lanes 
  
• 17.5-foot wide median 
• Curb and gutter
• 5-foot sidewalk on the north side of 15th Street
• a 10-foot multi-use path on the south side of 15th Street from U.S. 17 Business until Brown Street
  
• a 5-foot sidewalk on the south side of 15th Street from Brown Street until U.S. 264
  

Traffic will be maintained throughout construction using the phased construction approach.  This approach minimizes disruptions and ensures continuous access for residents and businesses.
