N.C. 147 Extension

Preliminary engineering activities for this project have been temporarily suspended. Read more.

Project Overview

Planning and development are underway on a proposed project in Wake County to build a median-divided four-lane road that would extend N.C. 147 south of I-540 in Morrisville.

The proposed work would improve traffic flow and provide a connection between Davis Drive, the Research Triangle Park, I-540 and Morrisville.  The project has the potential to reduce travel times and distance in the area.

By providing an important connection in Morrisville, the proposed project would also reduce the amount of traffic on the existing roadways and improve overall roadway efficiency and volume.
