Public Meetings Scheduled for Proposed Improvements to N.C. 54

DURHAM – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold two public meetings in Chapel Hill and Durham this week regarding a proposed project to make improvements to U.S. 54 between U.S. 15/U.S. 501 and N.C. 55.

The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Friday Conference Center, 100 Friday Center Drive in Chapel Hill. The second meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Double Tree Inn and Suites, 2515 Meridian Parkway in Durham. Interested residents may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made.

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Comments may also be submitted via phone, email, or mail by July 25. Comments received will be taken into consideration as the project develops.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in this meeting. Those requiring special services should contact Diane Wilson at (919) 707-6073 as early as possible to plan arrangements.

Persons who speak Spanish and have a limited ability to read, speak or understand English, may receive interpretive services upon request prior to the meeting by calling 1-800-481-6494.
