North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner to Obtain REAL ID at 2018 Got to Be NC Festival

RALEIGH – North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will apply for his REAL ID at the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ mobile unit at the Got to Be NC Festival this weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. He will apply for his REAL ID Friday, May 18, at 3 p.m.

A DMV mobile unit will provide REAL ID license and identification card services on Friday, May 18, from noon until 6 p.m. and on Saturday, May 20 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. NCDMV examiners, vehicle services staff, and License and Theft Bureau Inspectors will be available to answer questions about driver licenses, vehicle registrations, titles and more on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The staff will also help citizens learn how to skip the trip with DMV’s online services and how to obtain their REAL ID.

REAL ID is the single form of identification that will make it easier to board commercial airlines and enter federal facilities, including military installations in 2020. Anyone without a REAL ID or passport, will need to provide additional identification.

To obtain their first REAL ID, residents must bring the following verification documents to the DMV Mobile Office:

The DMV mobile unit will be located in front of the Sam G. Rand Grandstand during the festival. More information about the mobile units, including the schedule, is available at MyNCDMV.gov.
