Public Feedback Needed About Proposed Improvements to Alamance Road

BURLINGTON – Transportation officials have scheduled a public meeting on Thursday, April 26, regarding a proposal to widen a portion of N.C. 62 to multiple lanes, relocate N.C. 62 to intersect U.S. 70 across from East Lake Drive, and widen a small section of U.S. 70.

The public can view maps displaying the location and design of the project as they become available at NCDOT Public Meeting Site. Additional information can be found on the project website at https://www.ncdot.gov/news/public-meetings/Pages/U-5844-2018-04-26.aspx.

β€œThe purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow, relieve congestion, support regional mobility and accessibility, accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians and enhance safety for all roadway users,” said NCDOT Division 7 Engineer Mike Mills.

The public meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grove Park Baptist Church, 108 Trail One in Burlington. Interested residents can attend at any time as no formal presentation will be made.
