RALEIGH – To help combat the summer peak season, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is opening a new express driver license office in Greensboro to make it more convenient for customers in need of express DMV services.
Starting July 1, an office at the historic J. Douglas Galyon Depot, 236 E. Washington St. in Greensboro, will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. It will provide express services such as getting a REAL ID, renewing a driver license, ordering a duplicate license or state-issued ID card, and address changes. No road or knowledge skills tests or check of legal presence documents will be provided at the Depot office.
DMV will continue to find and implement improvements throughout the summer season to reduce wait times. Online services are also available at
