Improvements to Two Onslow County Intersections Topic of Upcoming Public Meeting

HOLLY RIDGE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting in late July on a proposed project to improve two intersections in Onslow County.

The project aims to address safety issues at the U.S. 17 / N.C. 172 (Sneads Ferry Road) and U.S. 17 / Old Folkstone Road intersections in Holly Ridge. The design of the project also provides a new route to connect Sneads Ferry Road and Old Folkstone Road.

Maps of the proposal area can be found at the NCDOT Public Meetings website.

The public meeting will be held July 29 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Folkstone Free Will Baptist Church at 133 Old Folkstone Road in Holly Ridge. Interested residents can drop in any time during the meeting to learn more about the proposal and talk with NCDOT representatives. There will not be a formal presentation.
