KINSTON – Transportation construction crews are making progress as work continues this week on the Queen Street project in downtown Kinston.
The following closures will take place on Queen Street while N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews mill the roadway:
- King (N.C. 11/55) to Caswell streets will be closed on Wednesday.
- Caswell to North streets will be closed Thursday.
- North to Blount streets will be closed Friday.
Contract crews will also continue paving Queen Street between King Street and north of the Neuse River from Oct. 9 - 12.
Each of these days, a detour will be in place for traffic. Drivers should slow down near the work zone and anticipate needing extra time for their commutes.
NCDOT will release more information about upcoming closures as it becomes available.
