Peace Street Ramp onto Capital Boulevard to Reopen

RALEIGH — Contract crews working on the Capital Boulevard bridges project are set to reopen the Peace Street ramp onto northbound Capital Boulevard in time for today's evening commute.

Access to northbound Capital Boulevard from Peace Street had been cut off since late July as the old structure was demolished, and the new ramp was constructed.

As a reminder, a double lane closure on southbound Capital Boulevard from Wade Avenue to Lane Street will begin tonight at 10 p.m. to allow crews to make the necessary pavement tie-ins, move portable concrete barriers and complete striping to complete a traffic shift. All lanes are scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Saturday.

A similar traffic shift occurred last night on the northbound lanes.

The lane closure is weather dependent and subject to change.

Drivers should pay extra attention in the work zone.
