CLAYTON- Work on Interstate 40 continues from U.S. 70 to N.C. 42 as part of the I-40 widening from Southeast Raleigh to Clayton project.
Weather permitting, I-40 West will close on Thursday at 10 p.m. and reopen the following morning at 5. Eastbound I-40 will have the median lane closed overnight Thursday into Friday morning as well.
As a detour traffic on I-40 West will need to take the N.C. 42 (Exit 312) to U.S. 70 West back to I-40 West.
Drivers should slow down and be alert for crews and equipment going through the work zone.
