SOUTHPORT – A portion of N.C. 133 (Long Beach Road) in Brunswick County will reopen early next week with a newly constructed bridge open to traffic.
N.C. 133 is expected to reopen Oct. 20, weather permitting. The new bridge over N.C. 211, along with other improvements to N.C. 133, is designed to increase connectivity and help relieve congestion in the growing area. This work is part of the larger, ongoing N.C. 211 widening project.
Construction began in November 2024 after delays due to Potential Tropical Cyclone 8, which impacted the south coastal region last fall.
