RALEIGH - The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is continuing construction on the Complete 540 Phase 2 Extension of the Triangle Expressway. This project will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from the I-40/I-42/Toll N.C. 540 interchange near Garner and Clayton to the existing I-540/I-87/U.S. 64/U.S. 264 interchange in Knightdale, completing the outer loop around the greater Raleigh area.
I-87 North and South near Exit 7 (I-540 West) is scheduled to temporarily close one lane overnight beginning on or around Nov. 4 through Nov. 6. The lane will close from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night.

Drivers may experience delays and should pay close attention when driving through the area.
The temporary lane closures are weather dependent.
