Public Hearings for Proposed Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement - Brunswick, New Hanover Counties

The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold two pre-hearing open houses and public hearings regarding the proposed replacement of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge in Brunswick and New Hanover counties.​

The public hearings are scheduled for:

Monday, Sept. 14, 2026
Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
​Formal hearing at 6 p.m.
Cape Fear Community College
Daniels Hall

Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026
Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the proposed projects and gather input on the proposed designs. The public can view project information at NCDOT's public input porta​l​.​​​​​

Public Comment

NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive comments. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as work on the project develops.​​

The opportunity to submit written comments will be provided at the meeting or can be submitted via phone, email or at NCDOT's public input portal by Oct. 15, 2026.
