The proposed Airport Parkway project by the N.C. Department of Transportation includes building a two-lane road, near Mid-Carolina Regional Airport, between Jake Alexander Boulevard and Cedar Springs Road/Peeler Road at U.S. 29.
Environmental studies are scheduled to be complete in 2026.
Preliminary engineering activities for this project resumed in 2023. Conceptual alignment alternatives and design concepts are under development at this time.
