Expand AllCollapse AllProject Maps Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement - Alternate A Map (Sept. 23, 2024) Alternate A is a bridge with a movable span with a proposed 65-135-foot vertical clearance.Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement - Alternate B Map (Sept. 23, 2024) Alternate B is a fixed span bridge with a 135-foot vertical clearance and trumpet interchange improvements (allows for interchange of secondary two-way streets to a multi-lane roadway with minimal traffic congestion).Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement - Alternate C Map (Sept. 23, 2024) Alternate C is a fixed span bridge with a 100-foot vertical clearance with trumpet interchange improvements. NCDOT was notified in May 2025 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Coast Guard that a new bridge would need to have no less than 135 feet of vertical clearance.
