N.C. 101 & Live Oak Street (U.S. 70) Improvements updates
Project Overview
Construction is underway to build a single-lane
roundabout at the intersection of N.C. 101 and Live Oak Street (U.S. 70) in Beaufort. The purpose of this project is to enhance mobility and safety by reducing vehicle speeds and maintaining a continuous flow of traffic.
The project design will accommodate future traffic demands and minimize driveway openings near the intersection, ultimately improving traffic and enhancing safety at the intersection. In addition to the intersection improvements, new sewer and water lines will be installed, as well as replacing a large pipe culvert, existing outdated infrastructure and improving the Town of Beaufort’s utility systems and drainage network.
