The proposed project is included in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Strategic Prioritization process, the Draft 2022 Cumberland County Comprehensive Transportation Plan and NCDOT’s 2024-2033 State Transportation Improvement Program.

In 2000, the N.C. Department of Transportation completed a feasibility study validating traffic congestion concerns and recommending widening the corridor.
