Public Meeting Held
The N.C. Department of Transportation held a public meeting on June 20, 2017, to answer questions and receive comment from the public on the proposed project.
Preferred Alternative Considered
On July 18, 2016, NCDOT and the Federal Highway Administration selected the preferred alternative, which is a combination of two previous design options. The combined option provides a better geometric design and avoids dividing several properties.
Environmental Assessment Approved
NCDOT and the Federal Highway Administration approved the Environmental Assessment – a document that details how the project might impact the community and natural environment– in May 2015.
