Project Overview
Work is underway on roadway improvements to a 1.25-mile section of U.S. 19/74/64/129 from about three-quarters of a mile southwest of Murphy to Hiwassee Street in Murphy.
Improvements involve increasing lane widths, adding turn lanes and raised medians, and removing driveways to address traffic congestion and to improve the overall safety and traffic flow. A roundabout is also proposed at the intersection of U.S. 19/74/64/129, Marks Drive and Smith Hollow.
