Agency Coordination
NCDOT is continuing to work closely with regulatory agencies and local government agencies in Charlotte and Matthews. This coordination has helped local, state, and federal government agencies to refine the project scope and design decisions. NCDOT will continue to coordinate with these agencies through completion of the environmental review process, final design, and project construction.
Environmental and Preliminary Design Studies
Through continued agency coordination, NCDOT and the regulatory agencies have agreed upon alternatives to be carried forward for detailed study in the EA. NCDOT is currently preparing an EA in compliance with the NEPA, as well as preliminary designs for the project. Once preliminary design and environmental studies are complete, and with consideration of public review and comment, a preferred alternative will be selected.
