If this is your first North Carolina ID, you can walk in at any driver license office. Walk-ins are accepted all day or until that location reaches capacity. You may also make an appointment, but it is not required.
For your visit, you will need to bring $16.75 and the following required documents:

If your ID is lost or stolen and has not expired, you can replace it online.
If your ID is still valid and you simply need to renew it, you can also complete that online.
If your ID has expired more than two years ago, you must visit a driver license office in person to renew it.
