​​Planning and development are underway to build a bypass between Polkton and Lilesville in Anson County. Work would help improve traffic congestion near Wadesboro, while increasing traffic flow and freight transportation between Charlotte and Wilmington. ​

Project Funding

This project is listed as Project R-5878 in the N.C. Department of Transportation's State Transportation Improvement Program. Section A is currently unfunded and Section B is funded for $169.7 million
