Service for five of North Carolina's seven ferry routes is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The N.C. Ferry Division accepts reservations up to 90 days in advance for service on the popular Cedar Island-Ocracoke and Swan Quarter-Ocracoke routes. Reservations are recommended – especially during the busy summer season – to ensure your desired departure time.
The Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicle ferry is a free, first come, first served ferry route that does not require or accept reservations.
Any reservations must be claimed at least 30 minutes prior to departure to avoid cancellation.

Please note: Tractor trailers and dump trucks must call (252) 791-3300 to reserve a reservation. A reservation made on the website for a high tonnage vehicle will not be honored.
