Reservations

Service for five of North Carolina's seven ferry routes is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The N.C. Ferry Division accepts reservations up to 90 days in advance for service on the popular Cedar Island-Ocracoke and Swan Quarter-Ocracoke routes. Reservations are recommended – especially during the busy summer season – to ensure your desired departure time.

The Hatteras-Ocracoke vehicle ferry is a free, first come, first served ferry route that does not require or accept reservations.

Any reservations must be claimed at least 30 minutes prior to departure to avoid cancellation.

To purchase tickets, book online or call 1-800-BY-FERRY.

Please note: Tractor trailers and dump trucks must call (252) 791-3300 to reserve a reservation. A reservation made on the website for a high tonnage vehicle will not be honored.
