The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles offers interpreter services to customers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech disabilities as well as those who are not fluent in English.

Residents who want to obtain an NCDMV credential but are limited in communicating due to deaf or hard of hearing or speech disabilities may request an ASL interpreter to assist during a DMV transaction. Requests can be submitted
online or by calling the NCDMV Call Center at (919) 715-7000 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Customer name
- Email and phone number
- State ID or driver license number (if applicable)
- County
- Driver license office location
- Reason for request/type of DMV service desired
