Equal Employment & Affirmative Action

​​​​​​The N.C. Department of Transportation's Equal Employment Opportunity Office, or EEO, ensures the department is compliant with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.​

This prohibits discrimination and workplace harassment​ based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin​.​

Some key components of the program include:

  • Ensures that all human r​esource practices are fair and equitable.
  • Monitoring, data collection and analysis of workforce representation.
  • Investigating discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints.
  • Provide complaint/g​​​​​rievance forms for employees.
  • NCDOT business unit evaluations.
  • Provide technical assistance/guidance to management.​
