A career-oriented, professional-level program for short-term training in civil engineering, the N.C. Department of Transportation's Cooperative Education Program's integrates classroom and practical experience for college and post-graduate students.
Under the Cooperative Education Program, a student works every other semester and usually shares an assignment with another student. While one works on the job, another attends classes.
Who Should Apply
College and graduate students who have studied civil engineering and are interested in public transportation should apply.
Eligibility Requirements
Qualified applicants must:
Be referred through a college/university co-op program
Have completed at least 24 semester hours
Commit to three alternating co-op sessions
Application Process
Interested applicants must first register with the cooperative education office at their college or university and then be referred to NCDOT.
They must then submit an
application and unofficial transcript to:
