Title applications require 10-15 business days for processing, but the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles offers an expedited titling service in which titles are processed and issued the same day or next business day.
Title Application Submitted by Affidavits
An individual may apply for a title using an affidavit when the North Carolina title or Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin has been assigned to an entity or individual and lost. There is a mandatory 15-day waiting period before the title is issued.
